The Coronado Company is always looking for a chance to get more training! They company just received an order of new Training Mats to be used during Self-Defense training.
Four of our Coronado Company Rangers recently went to Pahrump, Nevada and attended the Two-Day Defensive Handgun training offered at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute.

These Rangers and their classmates spent some time in the classroom, learning about legal issues concerning the use of firearms, the Color Code of Mental Awareness, and other important issues. Then it was out to the range for lots and lots of "hands-on" activities. The Rangers and their classmates were taught about the basics of handling handguns and safety, safety, safety! They participated in many drills involving loading and unloading, chamber and magazine checks, the 5-step draw from the holster, and how to clear Type I, Type II, and Type III malfunctions. More drills involved sight alignment, sight picture, and trigger control. Each student was taught how to work as a "coach" for their partner. Dry practice was done to reinforce the new skills, and then live fire practice brought those new skills to life!
